The Skandalaris Center for Interdisciplinary Innovation and Entrepreneurship is pleased to welcome Ralph S. Quatrano, PhD, as the Interim Director.
While the search continues for the successor of former Managing Director, Emre Toker, Dr. Quatrano will serve as the Skandalaris Center’s Interim Director. He is no stranger to the Washington University in St. Louis community, as he has been the Spencer T. Olin Professor in Biology at Washington University in St. Louis for the last 20 years, and he has served in several administrative positions, such as Dean of the School of Engineering & Applied Science (2010-15).
Dr. Quatrano is internationally known for his plant science research and significant contributions to the life sciences. He has interacted with the private sector, such as being Research Manager at Dupont and co-founder of MOgeneLC, a genomic service company in STL. He also serves on boards, consults for start-ups and major agricultural companies, is a Senior Partner in Exeteur, a new venture development company, and is a Venture Partner for the Lewis and Clark Venture Fund in St. Louis.
