New Ideas Breed New Connections

On Tuesday, January 29, 2019, university students and St. Louis locals took turns pitching their ideas at IdeaBounce®. Some were asked  questions about their ideas, receiving feedback from audience members on how they can improve and expand their ideas. In some cases, those who didn’t pitch an idea were able to provide resources, information and connections for those with ideas. In other cases, audience members left inspired by those who had the confidence to pitch their idea, walking away with newfound knowledge and self-confidence. After each person pitched their own idea, participants began to freely intermingle and get to know one another on a more personal level.

Hidaia Salem, a Master’s in Public Health student, pitched her idea called, “Yalla Pedal,” Salem was grateful to have the opportunity to practice her pitch in a low-pressure environment and and also workshop her idea through the thoughtful feedback she received from audience members. Salem also was able to provide a connection to Anaya Johnson, a junior in the college of Arts & Sciences, who was looking for a t-shirt vendor to further her own idea, “Angel Movement.” If you’d like the opportunity to share your own idea, make connections or help others develop their ideas, our next IdeaBounce® will be on April 3rd.
