If you love the energy that March Madness brings, then you will love the university-wide pitch competition the Skandalaris Center is bringing to WashU! Pitch Madness IdeaBounce® will be coming to campus on Thursday, March 24th from 5:30 – 7:00pm in Tisch Commons. This IdeaBounce® will be a bracket-style competition, with teams from six WashU schools competing for the first place prize of $500. The competing teams, and affiliated schools, are:
- Biometric Flock Solutions (Olin Business School) uses new advancements in precision livestock farming (PFL), this technology will automate flock monitoring on farmer’s smart devices. Founder Blair Donner.
- Integra Medical Solutions (McKelvey Engineering School) has developed a low-cost, easy to use EKG device to be used as part of a telehealth system for cardiac patients in developing nations. Founder William Gozlan.
- PolicyForMe (McKelvey Engineering School) translates the newest laws using AI to be accurate and accessible to the average American. Founder Victor Kalil.
- Grapevine Biosciences (School of Medicine) is developing rapid tests to identify catheter-associated bloodstream infections in hospitalized patients presenting with bacteremia. Founder Victoria Mityul.
- OwnHome (Olin Business School) is a new investment platform, targeting accredited investors to purchase homes outright and convert them into high-returning short-term rentals. Founder Parker Nixon.
- Pool (Olin Business School) is a mobile dating app that promotes matchmaking as a social activity that people of all relationship statuses can enjoy. Founder Sarah Ramrup.
- The WeGood App (Brown School) is a community health worker at the palm of your hand that makes care management accessible from the very beginning. Founder Torrie Real.
- Arch Supply (Sam Fox School) is a private tutoring service for seniors in high school who anticipate wanting to enroll undergraduate architecture school. Founder Alex Sidorsky.
- Final Step (Arts & Sciences) is an app and credit card targeted towards low to middle class consumers, as well as young adults, who want access to a hub of financial advice and mentorship. Founder Helen Telahun.
