Like disruption??  Interested to learn about disruptive businesses and meet amazing alums for casual conversation? WCC is pleased to host students to New York to visit companies that are innovative and using technology to change how business is done.  Sign-ups are almost closed for this Tech & Innovation Trek to occur on October 16 & 17 – including an Alumni Rountable to meet even more alums!!!

Join our annual, high-energy, interactive Trek hosted by Olin’s Weston Career Center.  All undergraduates from freshman to senior and across all/any majors are encouraged to apply.  The trip includes an Alumni Roundtable on the evening of October 16th which provides a highly-interactive networking opportunity to make genuine, lasting connections with alums in New York.   Students (and staff) will visit the following exciting organizations:

  • Google – a multinational technology company that specializes in Internet-related services and products. https://www.google.com/intl/en/about/
  • Spotify – a music, podcast, and video streaming service https://www.spotify.com/us/
  • Nomad Financial – a financial consultancy in NY (founder and CEO is WU alum) http://www.nomadfinancial.com/
  • BounceX – a U.S. company that makes behavioral automation tools for digital advertisers. It is based in New York City  https://www.bouncex.com/
  • Datadog – a monitoring service for cloud-scale applications, bringing together data from servers, databases, tools, and services to present a unified view of an entire stack. https://www.datadoghq.com
  • Stack Overflow – the largest, most trusted online community for developers to learn, share​ ​their programming ​knowledge, and build their careers.  https://stackoverflow.com/

What do all of these companies have in common? They are innovators disrupting their competitive industry landscapes.  Come learn what it takes to break into one of these companies!  The application deadline is September 21.  Please keep in mind that space is limited.

If selected, students are responsible for their own airfare and hotel accommodations. Additionally, students will be charged a $50 participation fee to offset other related expenses.
