During this fireside chat, serial entrepreneur, inventor, philanthropist, artist, author, and WashU alumnus Jim McKelvey (EN’ 87) will discuss his new book, The Innovation Stack: Building an Unbeatable Business One Crazy Idea at a Time, with Skandalaris Center Managing Director, II Luscri.

 

About the Speaker

Jim McKelvey is a serial entrepreneur, inventor, philanthropist, artist, and author of The Innovation Stack: Building an Unbeatable Business One Crazy Idea at a Time. He is the co-founder of Square and served as the chairman of its board until 2010, and still serves on the Board of Directors. In 2011, his iconic card reader design was inducted into the Museum of Modern Art. McKelvey founded Invisibly, an ambitious project to rewire the economics of online content, in 2016. He is a Deputy Chair of the St. Louis Federal Reserve. Jim serves on Washington University’s Board of Trustees, and the School of Engineering & Applied Science was renamed the James McKelvey School of Engineering in honor of his unprecedented and transformative investment in the school in 2019.

This event is a part of the programming for the Skandalaris Internship Program and the Skandalaris Startup Webinars series. All are invited to attend.
