Learn valuable lessons on how startup capital works and the different types of funding available for startups. Open to all entrepreneurs and innovators who are interested in learning more about startup capital.

Guest Speakers:

Angel An is an Associate in the Morgan Stanley Multicultural Innovation Lab. Previously, Angel was an Investment Banking Associate at Morgan Stanley, with a focus on the Consumer and Retail industry. She participated in the $1.2Bn IPO of REVOLVE, a fashion eCommerce company. In addition to supporting diverse founders, Angel is also passionate about female empowerment. Outside of work, she founded and manages ACE Women’s Collective, a non-profit platform to increase the transparency of the finance industry and connectivity among female professionals.

 

Kristy Jackson, ED. S., known as the G.P.S. Coach ™, driving entrepreneurs toward solid Goals, Profit & Strategy. She is a serial entrepreneur, and CEO of DK Solutions, LLC creative consulting and media. Kristy is a sought out coach, author, facilitator and professional speaker with 20 years of experience training and empowering a variety of startup, corporate, nonprofit, and higher education clients. Kristy is a published author of Dream, Sink, Launch: Lessons from the Real Entrepreneurship Journey, The Dream Box Children’s Book, The Bizperation and Goal Tracker Journal – all books that inspire and educate readers to dream bigger and actively pursue their goals. Creator of the Bizperation brand, she recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration as a National Emerging Leader. She is the host of the Bizperation podcast and has been seen or heard on local and national platforms including TEDXWomen, St. Louis Public Radio, Venture Café, and Small Business Majority. She is  recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration as a National Emerging Leader and 100 St. Louisans to Know by St. Louis Small Business Magazine.

 

Jenny Merlo, VP Business Banking at Enterprise Bank has been in the banking industry for a total of 15 years. She initially worked for Bank of America (and predecessor banks) in St. Loui s for 7 years as a Middle Market Relationship Manager. Merlo then took some time off to raise 4 children before starting with Enterprise Bank in 2014. Her focus has been helping small to medium-sized privately held businesses achieve their financial goals. Merlo does this primarily through various financing vehicles – from SBA financing to conventional lending and everything in between and around those solutions. Her passion has always been the traditional family-owned and operated businesses, spanning all types of industries. Merlo grew up in a three-generation family owned business and married into a two-generation business, so she understands the challenges, excitement, successes and emotions that surround these companies and the related families.
