A platform that turns everyday dining into meaningful impact is entering its next phase of growth.

Swipe Savvy, a customer engagement and rewards platform, has acquired GiftAMeal, the restaurant marketing platform that transforms guest photos into meals for local food banks.

Founded by Andrew Glantz, a former Skandalaris Global Impact Award (GIA) winner, GiftAMeal has been a standout example of how mission-driven ventures can scale both impact and business performance.

Turning a Simple Action Into Real Impact

The GiftAMeal experience is designed to be seamless. Diners scan a QR code, snap a photo of their meal, and instantly trigger a donation. They can also share on social media to generate additional meals — all without downloading an app.

For restaurant staff, the process requires no additional effort, making it easy to integrate into daily operations.

Each meal donated represents a monetary contribution that enables food banks to distribute approximately 1.2 pounds of groceries to families in need.

Since its launch, GiftAMeal has scaled significantly:

  • 1,200+ restaurant locations across 46 states
  • Nearly 3 million meals provided
  • Partnerships with 185 local food banks

Participating restaurants range from independent operators to national brands, including Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken, Snarf’s Sandwiches and The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill, as well as franchise locations of Chick-fil-A, Häagen-Dazs Shops and Scooter’s Coffee.

Where Impact Meets Business Performance

Beyond its social impact, GiftAMeal has also delivered measurable business results for its restaurant partners.

Guests who engage with the platform:

  • Visit 39% more often
  • Spend 20% more per order
  • Tip 32% more per visit

Because the experience is free for diners and funded by restaurants, it creates a positive emotional connection that strengthens brand loyalty while encouraging organic social sharing.

What the Acquisition Means

The acquisition brings together two companies focused on building stronger customer relationships.

By combining Swipe Savvy’s engagement and loyalty tools with GiftAMeal’s built-in social impact model, restaurants will be able to connect customer behavior with meaningful community outcomes.

“GiftAMeal has proven that doing good and driving growth go hand-in-hand,” said Swipe Savvy CEO Jason Mayoral. “Their platform creates a genuine emotional connection between guests and the restaurants they love.”

GiftAMeal will also enhance Swipe Savvy’s Points for Purpose™ program, making it even easier for customers to support nonprofits through everyday purchases.

Looking Ahead

For Glantz, the mission remains the same — just at a larger scale.

“When I started GiftAMeal, the goal was simple: make it easy for restaurants to give back and give guests a reason to feel good about where they eat,” he said. “Nearly 3 million meals later, joining Swipe Savvy means we can bring that mission to more restaurants and more communities.”

Following the acquisition, GiftAMeal will continue operating as both a standalone platform and an integrated feature within Swipe Savvy’s ecosystem, with no disruption for current partners.

Glantz will join Swipe Savvy as VP of Strategic Partnerships, leading the platform’s continued growth and integration.

Why It Matters

GiftAMeal’s journey — from a student-founded, impact-driven idea to a nationally scaled platform — reflects the kind of ventures the Skandalaris Center aims to support.

This acquisition is not just a milestone for the company, but a clear example of how purpose-driven entrepreneurship can create measurable impact at scale.
