Applications are now open for the 2017 Global Impact Award (GIA), Washington University’s business plan competition for ventures that are scalable, sustainable, and quick-to-market with proof of concept and a broad impact.
Established in 2013, the competition is facilitated by Washington University’s Skandalaris Center for Interdisciplinary Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and is made possible by a generous donation from alumnus, Suren G. Dutia, and his wife, Jas K. Grewal.
The deadline to apply for the Global Impact Award is March 20, 2017. Finalists will be selected and announced in mid-April. From April through the final event in October, finalists will receive expert mentorship and connections to people or organizations that accelerate their development. At the final event in October, a Global Impact Award winner (or winners) will be selected and can receive up to $50,000. For the full list of dates, see the 2017 GIA Welcome Kit.
“Ultimately, the goal is to help all of the finalists succeed beyond the Global Impact Award, which is why our administrative team works hard to secure the best mentors for each finalist team,” explains Emre Toker, Managing Director of the Skandalaris Center.
