More than 4,500 exhibitors and 180,000 attendees were on hand for the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas earlier this month; well represented among them were St. Louis ventures and and Washington University alumni. Tech highlights from the show vary from the cool – Samsung’s 98-inch 8K TV Wall and the Nreal Light mixed reality glasses – to the weird – Monit’s smart diaper sensor and Pepe’s pet dryer.

Many St. Louis startups showcased products over the course of the week including Flipstik – housed at T-Rex downtown, SABRE – who debuted their new connected pepper spray device at the show, and Jane.ai – a cutting-edge artificial intelligence platform.

David Karandish (EN ’05), CEO of Jane.ai, presented at YPO’s pre-show event and commented that “CES is a great way to connect and learn from a variety of influencers from all over the world and to get a taste of what the future of technology holds.”

The Skandalaris Center is considering holding a WashU meetup during CES 2020 – if you plan on attending email us at sc@wustl.edu and let us know so we can add you to the invite list.
