The Skandalaris Center is thrilled to announce the finalists for the first-ever Skandalaris Venture Competition. This program is open to current Washington University students and provides expert mentorship to new ventures and startups to ready them for commercializing their idea, launching, and pitching to investors. Teams can win up to $15,000 in awards. The winning Venture Competition team will also receive $1,000 in Lyft ride credit.
The following teams will join us for the final presentations of the competition on April 10th.
Arch App – Arch App rewards people for going to bars and restaurants in groups by providing a line of communication for discounts between vendor and customer.
Engine 2 Photonics – Engine 2 Photonics develops and improves indoor agriculture technology, particularly horticultural lighting, through product design, installation, and consultation services.
Good Soul Company – Good Soul Company imports a TigerNut food snack from Nigeria under the name Good Soul TigerNuts.
HUM Industrial Technology – HUM Industrial Technology deploys sensors in an industrial company’s rail yard to improve safety and efficiency of rail operations.
Illumino – Illumino is a surgical lighting company with a flexible, low-profile lighting option that provides more illumination for the surgical field compared to current light sources.
Pupil – Pupil is an Ed-Tech company that uses computer vision to digitally transform the classroom.
Regavi – Regavi is a personal CRM (relationship-building platform) and identity verification service (social identity blockchain).
Sew Swag – Sew Swag is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that upcycles damaged/ donated apparel and distributes them for the youth homeless population in the greater St. Louis area.
SpectraServe – SpectraServe applies the power of hyperspectral imaging technology to improve hospital economics and reduce patient suffering by increasing the reliability and speed of tumor margin assessment.
The Confluence – The Confluence is St. Louis’ first true holistic restaurant incubator that reduces risk and increases capacity for food industry entrepreneurs via a three-pronged approach of (1) affordable B2C restaurant retail space, (2) industry-specific technical training, and (3) interactive community support.
