St. Louis Applebee’s Locations Reach 1,000 Meals Provided to the Local Community on the GiftAMeal App

On May 16th, 31 Greater St. Louis Applebee’s locations joined the GiftAMeal program. In just 7 weeks, over 1,000 meals have been provided to those in need due to customers using the GiftAMeal mobile app at these locations.

For those of you that do not already know, GiftAMeal is a mobile application that fights hunger with photos of food. Each time a user takes a photo in a GiftAMeal partner restaurant on the app, GiftAMeal provides a meal to someone in need in the local community. Users may also recommend restaurants to friends with a short message, and share their photos on social media to provide additional meals.

GiftAMeal’s CEO, Andrew Glantz, explained, “With GiftAMeal, we saw an opportunity to both help the community, and help provide restaurants with a unique method to get customers in the door. We are proud to be partnered with an organization like Applebee’s that cares deeply for the community.”

To distribute meals in the Greater St. Louis area, GiftAMeal partnered with local food bank Operation Food Search. Operation Food Search is the largest distributor of free food in the St. Louis bi-state area, and provides food to over 300 pantries.
