For the seventh straight year, WashU hosted a meetup for alumni and friends of the University during the JP Morgan Healthcare Conference. More than 150 alumni, representing all 7 schools, registered to attend the meetup at Bluestem Brasserie providing a unique opportunity for healthcare industry leaders, entrepreneurs, technologists, and investors in the WashU community to connect.
Mike Powell, WashU Board of Trustees Member and General Partner at Sofinnova Ventures, shared remarks about current investment and business activity in healthcare and Aron Knickerbocker (LA ’90), Chief Executive Officer of Five Prime Therapeutics, provided an update on trends and happenings at the Conference.
“The WashU event at JPM was a great way to connect with fellow alums during the hectic week,” said Piero Mendez (EN ’13), Co-founder and COO at Empire Biotechnologies. “It is good to see WashU so well represented in biotech and makes me realize how lucky I am to have such a strong alumni network.”
Thank you to the WashU Alumni Office for hosting this event, and we look forward to seeing you there next January.
