Hi! My name is Rick Liu, currently a junior studying Business & Computer Science with a minor in Entrepreneurship. Earlier this Spring, I volunteered at Stadia Venture’s Finalist Pitch Day as well as their accelerator program. It was a very eye-opening and humbling experience to find myself surrounded by successful entrepreneurs, judges, mentors, and investors. At Stadia, I worked with the Trufan team and its Co-Founder Swish Goswami suggested that I interview the people I meet as a way of learning more about startups as well as building more connections. I took that advice, and here I am, introducing…

The Seed – The Startup Journey is a series of interviews with startup founders. It is made for you, the curious student, talented innovator, and aspiring entrepreneur. Throughout this series, we will explore the various startup journeys by discovering the genesis story behind these startups and gather advice, in hopes that we can plant the seed of innovation and creativity in ourselves, so that one day we can watch it grow and prosper.

Doing these interviews has been extremely rewarding, and I hope to share what I learned with the world! As of now, I have interviewed over 16 founders with startups ranging from cricket protein to AI sports motion analysis. I will be posting an episode every week on YouTube, as well as other podcasting platforms such as Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

Our Instagram page also has the latest previews, highlights, and takeaways from each episode, so be sure to follow us there as well! You can also request specific industries to hear about, or submit questions to ask the founders!

I am always looking for feedback, so if you have any suggestions as to how I could improve, please let me know! Also, if you are a startup founder and want to be featured on our podcast, don’t hesitate to reach out to me at rick.liu@wustl.edu
