“Meet & Eats” are irregularly occurring Skandalaris Center events intended to help expose students to a variety of creators, innovators, and entrepreneurs. The topic and/or industry changes every time, but one thing remains consistent: we buy you food!
Come meet WashU alumnus, Shaun Arora. He is the Managing Director at Southern California’s only hardware accelerator (Make in LA), an angel investor for startups, and a board member on the contracting manufacturing company he helped build.
At Make in LA, Shaun is cultivating a hardware community to support fantastic founders scale and avoid both common and uncommon pitfalls with bringing hardware to market. Make in LA targets 8-18 investments per year into early stage hardware startups. Prior to working with early stage companies, Shaun spent more than a decade helping larger companies with their manufacturing through NEO Tech. He also scaled NEO Tech through exponential growth into a Tier 2 electronics contract manufacturing company working across industries such as aerospace, medical device, and enterprise. And prior to that, he worked as a cultural anthropologist for alcohol brands and CPG companies.
As Shaun is located in LA, he will join by video conference. Shaun will share about a topic of his choice and answer questions.
Open to: WashU students, faculty, staff & alumni
To ensure the best video conference experience for attendees, seating will be limited. RSVP below by 12/8:
