Startups require teams, and teams require workspace. That’s why we relocated to the Mallinckrodt building, and built a space suited for team work.
Featuring ample tables and chairs for all of your meeting needs, 360° of writable surfaces, and an always-stocked Keurig machine, the new Skandalaris Center has you covered.

Enroll in our 3-credit elective course
Fall 2017 is the launch of our first ever for-credit course, Navigating the Startup World. Learn the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, with emphasis on venture validation and sustainability. Open to all: from freshmen to faculty.

Win funding
We host several competitions each year that provide funding to social and commercial ventures. Funding amounts range in size from $5,000 to $50,000, and qualification requirements vary between students, faculty, and the community.

Become a student business owner on- or off-campus
The WashU Student Entrepreneurial Program (StEP) provides a unique opportunity for students to own a business on- or off-campus.
Student owners can supplement the valuable business and entrepreneurial skills they learn in the classroom while gaining real world experience as they manage and lead their own businesses.

Participate in pre-orientation: Startup (W)U
Startup (W)U is the Skandalaris Center’s pre-orientation program for incoming first-year students. The program takes place each year on the Sunday-Thursday in August before orientation and the start of classes. Students from all majors are welcome and will experience the journey from idea to venture.

Be a summer intern
We offer a 10-week paid summer internship program for undergraduate students in any school pursuing any major. This is an opportunity to experience entrepreneurship in a real-world setting and connect to the community of startups and support organizations in St. Louis.

Earn recognition in entrepreneurship
Students from all disciplines and at all levels are eligible to earn recognition for their outstanding accomplishments in innovation and entrepreneurship. Recognitions are earned by accumulating points through a combination of curricular and co-curricular activities. This is an opportunity for students to build their resume, skillset, and connections while still in school.

Participate in various growth opportunities
In addition to our recurring programs, we host dozens of intermittent events each semester, such as movie nights, panel discussions, hackathons, and more.
